Evidence and Policy conference

Past event

January 2015

In January 2015, The Centre ran a conference to stimulate discussion on the dynamics at the interface between evidence (or forms of knowledge) and policy. The aim was to stimulate critical thinking on issues such as: what kind of knowledge is considered as ‘evidence’; whose evidence (knowledge) is seen as policy relevant; what is the role of evidence in advocacy; how do policy makers and the producers of evidence communicate? Speakers: Dr. Steve Sturdy (Edinburgh University), Dr. Karen Duke (Middlesex University), Jordan Tchillinigiran (Cambridge University), Dr. Jo Maybin (Kings Fund), Professor Gerry Stimson, (LSHTM), Dr. Claire Herrick (Kings College, London), Paul Hayes (ex National Treatment Agency).
